What is a Conveyor Belt?
A conveyor belt is designed for the automated transport of objects, typically products or machined parts. It mainly consists of a continuous belt stretched over a frame between two pulleys (one drive pulley and one return pulley), a motorized drive unit, and a supporting structure.
The items being conveyed are usually transported for further processing in a treatment unit, such as feeding into a hopper. Products are often transferred for packaging or conditioning. During normal operation, items are spaced regularly on the belt, but irregularities or accumulations can sometimes occur.
The main wear occurs with the belt, and industrial conveyor belts are designed for easy replacement. Regular cleaning is necessary, especially for the food industry with its hygiene and cleanliness requirements.
Some conveyor belts are modular and can be adapted to specific configurations, such as long distances, curves, or inclines. The direction of movement can be reversible on some models.
Different Types of Industrial Conveyor Belts

PVC: Suitable for standard transport (without accumulation).
PU (Polyurethane): More durable and suitable for irregularly arranged items (with accumulation).
Rubber: Very resistant and more durable than the previous two materials.
The motor is sometimes a gear motor, which is a motor combined with a gearbox. The gearbox moderates the speed delivered by the motor while increasing its torque.
