Industrial reservoirs: characteristics and use
Reservoirs are vertical containers used in industrial processes for the storage of intermediate or final products. Their design can be very varied, and they can store pressurized products or products at low relative pressures. They can also be heated or cooled and can be lined to store a wide variety of industrial products.
Our storage reservoirs are cylindrical, vertically oriented, stainless steel containers, many of which can be used for the storage and transport of dangerous goods, complying with the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road or ADR. They are normally fed through the top and discharge through the bottom connections, via specially designed nozzles. One of their distinguishing features is the type of support, which will be detailed in the next section.
Metal reservoirs are commonly used in the chemical industry to store raw materials and additives such as those used in the production of paints, adhesives, industrial coatings, mineral oils, and many other products. They are also used in pharmaceutical, food, and beverage production, maintaining the strictest hygienic measures in the handling and preservation of the products.
Different types of industrial metal reservoirs for industrial processes
Industrial reservoirs differ mainly in their capacity, the way they are closed, and the way they are transported. By design, some are mobile containers, whereby the type of support determines the ease with which they can be transported. These include the following:
Wheeled reservoirs: they offer great flexibility in terms of mobility, thanks to the wheels at the base of the support.
Reservoirs on forklift structures, which allow them to be easily moved within the plant.
Leg-mounted basins: they have a highly stable structure and can be adapted to any type of process.
Flat-bottomed basins, which can be easily integrated into industrial processes.
