The history of the Bühler Group
The company was founded in 1860 as an iron foundry. In 1871, a mechanical workshop was added, initially producing parts for embroidery machines, but later also manufacturing casting rolls and mills. In 1891, the international expansion began with the founding of the first subsidiary in Paris. In the following years, the company specialized in the construction of grain mills, and later, machines for other applications were added to the product lineup. Today, Bühler is a fifth-generation family-owned company based on the three business pillars: Grains & Food, Consumer Foods, and Advanced Materials. The company invests heavily in research and development and also relies on various collaborations. The Bühler AG is now present in more than 140 countries, with over 30 production sites, 100 service stations, and 25 application centers worldwide.
