These cabinets are used both in science and industry and enable the simulation of biological, chemical, and physical environmental conditions for various purposes. Despite the similarity in names, the company should not be confused with Binder Behälterbau from Crailsheim. The manufacturer's products are mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare sector, and food industry. In 1983, Peter Binder founded the company as WTP Binder Labortechnik GmbH. The initial product range included sterilizers, drying chambers, and incubators. In 2003, the company entered a new field of business with environmental simulation cabinets for the industry. Today, the company has subsidiaries and sales locations in several countries, but production is exclusively carried out in Tuttlingen.

An important product line of Binder GmbH are incubators used in both research and development as well as production processes. They create stable, defined environmental conditions for cultivation processes, storage of sensitive substances, or material testing. Standard incubators are frequently used in microbiology. They are available in various designs and sizes and meet the requirements of scientific laboratory test chambers. Binder mechanical engineering also offers safety drying chambers for solvent-containing substances. Furthermore, the company has vacuum drying chambers for particularly fast and gentle drying. They operate in a temperature range of 10 to 220 °C and are also available in special versions for drying solvent-containing products such as paints and coating materials.
